LIFE Training of Trainers
In order to deliver the LIFE Curriculum to their students, LIFE Centers must have a minimum of two certified LIFE trainers. Obtaining the LIFE Trainer certificate isn’t difficult, but it is mandatory! There are two ways for trainers to obtain their certification.
Option 1: LIFE Face-to-Face Training of Trainers
The LIFE Training of Trainers (TOT) is a 5-day seminar where future LIFE trainers learn the theory behind the LIFE Curriculum and its teaching methodology. They have the opportunity to practice delivering topics from the LIFE Curriculum. The LIFE TOT is a highly interactive, hands-on seminar, taught by certified Master Trainers. Participants receive their LIFE Trainer certificate on the last day of the LIFE TOT.
Each grant recipient in the HP LIFE Program is invited to attend a LIFE TOT by its regional CoE. The center can send 1-2 trainers to the TOT, using the cash grant attributed. This is a mandatory training for all LIFE centers.
The trainers sent to the TOT should have a training background and experience working with young entrepreneurs. They should also have a good working knowledge of:
- Computers and Windows operating systems
- Peripherals, (printers, faxes, copiers, cell phones)
- MS Office Suite, (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Internet and Web browsers
- Basic business principles
Option 2: LIFE Blended Training of Trainers
The LIFE blended training of trainers (TOT) is used to train future LIFE trainers who are not enrolled in a 5 days TOT. Instead of the 5 day face-to-face TOT, the trainer can cover 2 days of training online, at his/her own convenience. To be able to be certified as LIFE trainer, the trainer who successfully goes through the online training should also attend an additional 2 to 3 days face-to-face training, at the nearest training center.
The LIFE Blended TOT allows future trainers to learn the LIFE Curriculum and its teaching methodology through an online platform, called the LIFE Online Method. Those who complete the LIFE Online Method and successfully complete the related LIFE Online Assessment are invited to attend a 2-day face-to-face workshop where they can practice delivering topics from the LIFE Curriculum in a hands-on way. Participants receive their LIFE Trainer certificate at the end of the 2-day LIFE Face-to-face Workshop, and are then able to use the LIFE curriculum to train students and certify them.
The LIFE Blended Training of Trainers contains three steps:
- Step 1: Completing the LIFE Online Method
- Step 2: Successfully completing the LIFE Online Assessment
- Step 3: Successfully completing the LIFE Face-to-Face Workshop
LIFE MASTER TRAINING OF TRAINERS (mtot)
The Master Training of Trainers (MTOT) is a train the trainer session for the trainers who are already certified as LIFE trainers (or HP GET-IT, HP MAP, HP HELP). The candidates for the Master Training should have a track record of possessing the program’s skills needed, curriculum knowledge and methodology understanding. Those who are certified as LIFE Master Trainers can train and certify other LIFE trainers; MEA-I should be kept informed on any MTOTs.
CERTIFICATION
LIFE certificates for students, trainers and master trainers are generated automatically in Smart Tool.
Smart Tool is the LIFE online training management system that enables LIFE trainers to register their LIFE training and their students, track his trainings and at the end of the LIFE training, they are able to generate LIFE certificates in just a few clicks. The LIFE branded certificates can be customized with the logo of the training center.
All LIFE trainings (including TOTs and MTOTs) are registered, organized and archived through Smart Tool.
